I love when this happens. The fit that inspired this post: With PG/CPU skills at 3 Scout Ck.0 BK-42 ACR M512-A SMG Flux grenade ARN-18 cloak X-3 quantum nanohive 4x complex shield extender Basic reactive plate Basic dampener
Do you have any fittings that use exactly every ounce of your PG/CPU?

Actually, the basic damp gets me under the precision non-precision-enhanced Cal Scout V cal scouts. That's important- it gives me a major advantage over truly bricked Cal scouts.

Get off your "real scout" high horse. in reality if numbers are rounded up like most say your damp will do nothing Oh, are they rounded up? Has any real testing been done to confirm/deny this? I assumed that wasn't the case. Thanks for the info.
As for your other post- I know you can kill heavies with less EHP, I also run a triple precision enhanced C/1 scout and kill heavies in that too, but that doesn't change the fact the more EHP makes it much easier, especially without REs. You can kill anything with anything, but easier is always better when you're trying to win. Easier = higher chance of cutting through several heavies in a row = more effective.

DozersMouse XIII wrote:+1 to the triple precision cal scout I just laugh because the way its set up in the post is killing the suits best assets I completely disagree.
I can see uncloaked and undampened non-Gal scouts, which I run into quite often, as well as cloaked logis (surprisingly common). Being able to see uncloaked scouts is often enough- I can see where they disappeared, and their facing when they disappeared, which is plenty to hunt them down through the cloak.
The reality is that there's not actually that many scouts out there, for all that people scream that they're FOTM- I still see about 40% mediums, 40% heavies, 20% scouts on most teams.
The real issue is that no amount of precision enhancers will allow me to see a cloaked and single-dampened Gal scout V shotgun scout, which is my nemesis- therefore tanking is all I can do, since this way I can generally survive one shotgun round, and it makes me do much better against the rest of the enemy team.

You've been enlightened.
I'm about to graduate as a comp sci major, I know what they do unless told otherwise. I was assuming it was a float, not an int, since giving percentage bonuses to integers is just asking for annoying little bugs that are a pain in the ass to diagnose... but now that you mention it, yeah, I bet CCP was sloppy like that.

Haha, nice! For percentages, I prefer to convert floats to ints at the last calculation, that way you don't end up with 1.538549840263 reload speed. What language did you practice, if you don't mind me asking? I go to a liberal arts school, and the professors mostly have a boner for Scheme, a functional language created by MIT and really only used for teaching. Functional programming is cool, especially Haskell, but it's terribly impractical for the job market . I've taken classes in Java, C, Python, and Ruby/ROR, as well, though, and taught myself the basics of PHP. I know a little bit of everything and have mastered nothing- such is a liberal arts school... If I could do it all again, I'd go to a university and get a more practical education, but of course I say that now. Edit: Oh, also learned matlab and prolog.

I'm just a freshman so I haven't started yet in my field, but I taught myself C++. I'll be learning Java and some other one that I forgot next year. Sorry for derailing your thread lol carry on o7 Hey, no problem, it's not as though these forums are a paragon of useful and intelligent debate , might as well discuss whatever wherever. Comp sci is fun, stick with it! It's basically a scam- we've built up this idea in the general populace that "ooohh, scary computer, must call in the tech-priest to make it work", and now we're just cashing in on it. IT work is the sweetest- getting paid nearly $100 an hour to set up some idiot's desktop email client and install a printer = trololololo all the way to the bank.
